World Forum for Africa Partners with the Office of the Vice President to Elevate Women's Economic Empowerment

The World Forum for Africa (WOFA) proudly announces its partnership with the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria to advance gender and financial inclusion through the Aso Accord for Economic and Financial Inclusion. This collaboration was celebrated at the #ShesIncluded Gender Inclusion Conference 2024 held in the presidential villa on November 8, 2024, where over 300 women were empowered with resources to boost their economic resilience.

The conference, themed “Breaking Barriers, Building Resilience for Sustainable Economic and Financial Inclusion”, aimed to address gender-specific barriers and empower women to participate actively in Nigeria’s economy.

This initiative aligns with the government’s renewed focus on inclusive growth as part of its broader economic agenda.
“By partnering with the Office of the Vice President, we are championing initiatives that enhance women’s access to financial opportunities,” said Abi Ahmed Haruna, the Co-founder of WOFA. “Together, we are driving Nigeria closer to its vision of a $1 trillion economy.”
Speaking on the development, the Technical Adviser of Financial Inclusion, the Office of the Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Nurudeen Abubakar Zauro, noted that this event seeks to examine subjected around maternal health, girl child education, Gender Based Violence etc and their nexus with economic and financial inclusion.
