The WOFA Secretariat is a think tank dedicated to the provision of infrastructure development solutions across the African continent.
WHAT WE DO
WOFA Secretariat is research-driven and will actively follow up on the conference initiatives and monitor the implementation of projects, agendas and commitments made at the WOFA Summit.
WOFA Secretariat will serve as the repository of infrastructure development in Africa and the institutional memory of the WOFA Summit. It will equally set up and manage WOFA Online Library, one of the world’s most extensive collections of online resources about infrastructure development in Africa.

Objectives of the WOFA Secretariat
- Serve as a Think-Tank for infrastructure development in Africa.
- Drive advocacy on the urgency of improving infrastructure on the continent.
- Create and maintain partnerships that will further WOFA's mandate.
- Engage the media.
- Guide financial institutions and investors in the quest to explore, identify and support infrastructure projects in Africa.
Functions of the WOFA Secretariat
- Research, gather and prepare reports on the status of infrastructure development and projects across the continent.
- Actively follow up on the conference initiatives and monitor the implementation of projects, agenda and commitments made at the WOFA Summit.
- Work with developmental partners to chart a course for Africa’s infrastructure development.
- Engage and educate the general public about the progress in the infrastructure space through periodicals, thought leadership articles, the translation of speeches, publications of documents, newsletters and books and more.
- Conceptualize, monitor, evaluate, and implement infrastructure projects across the continent.
- Serve as the repository of infrastructure development in Africa and the institutional memory of the WOFA Summit.
- Offer technical and administrative support for the successful hosting of WOFA Summit in the continent.
WOFA Online Library
Through our online platform, we want to create one of the world’s most extensive collections of online resources about infrastructure development in Africa. We are talking articles, opinion editorials, books, and everything in-between.
Management of the Secretariat
The Secretariat shall be maintained and managed by an Executive Secretary. The Executive Secretary shall administer, coordinate, and have technical responsibility for the Secretariat’s functions and personnel.
The Executive Secretary, in accordance with the global best practices, shall be responsible for establishing an internal structure for the Secretariat that will enable it to function responsively and properly in alignment with its responsibilities and mandates.
